An Observation

I am always somewhat taken aback when I come across the bookshop displays of tiny paperbacks that make for European and American fiction in Malaysia and Singapore. Having been spoilt so much in Europe by the generous large-ness as per say of hardbacks or tradebacks that spell for delightful titles, I can never get used to these compact-sized options. I often think that if I felt compelled to collect these books, I would view them with some trepidation - not knowing what to make of them - like matchbox cars for instance where they would form for a quivering miniature assortment in my library. This in the light of gentler book giants.
