update -

Today, I'll add a scene to my stage play & polish the draft. It's a crusty English play and involves an attempted murder. All very civil. Characters spill their story while drinking sherry and afternoon tea.
One character drinks too much, another hides a gun and a woman contemplates leaving her husband. (There are 5 in my cast.)
The characters still feel foreign. I can sketch them comfortably but can't slip into the pages for hand-holding intimacy. That's my longing.

Still enthusiastic about the world classics. I'm reading the difficult Italian translation of Manzoni's The Bethrothed quite well. 38 deliciously lengthy chapters. I've finished 10. Sorry to have become a bore.
